The Institute

 THE INSTITUTE:

A summary: (SPOILERS!) The story follows a young boy named Luke who has telekinetic abilities. One day he is kidnapped by 'The Institute' a government organization that takes kids with superpowers in order to use them as test subjects for their abilities. The institute is divided into two sections: One to be test subjects and the other to be used as work objects. Luke is able to escape with the help of Maureen, a staff member. Luke meets a man named Tim, who helps him go back to save the other kids. The story ends with a semi-plot twist that you won't see coming.

Review: I LOVE Stephen King novels, I've been reading his works since the 5th grade at least. Cujo was the very first I read by him. Over time I have become a huge fan. This book is no exception, I absolutely LOVED it. I just loved how relevant it was to today's society, drawing parallels with kids being held in cages at the border and just how inhumane the government can be. I also just love his style of writing and the way he so effortlessly crafts his stories.

“Great events turn on small hinges.”

“It came to him, with the force of a revelation, that you had to have been imprisoned to fully understand what freedom was.”

“It was so simple, but it was a revelation: what you did for yourself was what gave you the power.”

(I could go on and on here, Stephen King just really does have some of the best quotes)
